"Clover"- a 2020, 16.2h bay mare by Lea (First Samurai). She had just a handful of starts, retired sound back in December, and was turned out for the winter once the meet ended, so has had plenty of let down time.
This mare is put together like a real sport horse prospect; she is uphill and leggy, with a strong, sloping shoulder and powerful hindquarter, while also possessing an elegant refinement, complete with a gorgeous head and neck.
She moves as beautiful as she looks. Clover wants to be round and soft, stretching naturally over her topline. Her trot is lofty, flat-kneed, and elastic, and the canter is uphill and rhythmical, with plenty of push from behind, while also maintaining a soft, even tempo. She is an absolute pleasure to ride; so straightforward and comfortable. I have put some of my Adult Amateur students on her, and they love her too; she is just so pleasant, easy and comfortable. Clover has just been started over fences, and is a super careful, classy jumper, with scope to spare.
Clover has a kind, sweet, inquisitive personality. She is easy to handle, and gets along with others easily in turnout. Clover has no known injuries, and zero vices. She stands quietly on the cross-ties, and for the farrier. She will make an exceptional sport horse prospect for someone to bring along in the discipline of their choice; straightforward and forgiving enough for an educated amateur with a trainer. I could see her excelling in the hunters, jumpers, dressage or eventing!
