Special Imported Irish TB XC Machine!

This guy keeps getting better and better! Ozzy has been to 2 events this year so far, and already qualified for the Area II championships. He came 3rd in the 1st one, and narrowly missed 2nd in the 2nd one during which he got his best dressage score at Recognized Training level. A spook at a jump judge getting out of her car while we approached her jump prevented the 2nd place, in which he would have beaten the 5* riders...

Ozzy competed at 5 Recognized Training level events last year and his score improved significantly each time out. He finished up at Full Moon on 11/17/24 double clear in xc on a day in which almost 40% of the entries did not, and he did it at least part of the way without a shoe! During the spring, at his 2nd event at the level, he qualified for the Area II championships and proved his Irish mettle by being one of four out of 39 to go double clear in xc on a day of pouring rain with thick sloppy muddy footing.

In an effort to show that he can also be a reliable lower level horse, we dropped him down a level to novice during his event on 9/1/24. He came in third by a nostril, earned a 31.4 in dressage (with a notoriously hard scoring judge), and finished on his best final score to date in recognized events.

Ozzy is an Irish TB who was imported from Ireland and looks like today's modern warmblood with thicker bone than the average TB. He is 16+ hands, 9 y/o, is dark bay in color and has had nothing but professional training since coming off the track 4 years ago. Don't let his height fool you: current rider is an ex college basketball player and just under 6' tall. Extreme care has been taken in training him slowly and methodically, and he is now ready for his forever partner in crime! Since he was trained to be a Steeplechaser in Ireland, he has jumped the massive 5 rail fences at speed, and he is a xc machine. He literally has given me THE BEST FEELING I HAVE EVER HAD XC which is saying something considering I have competed a good 25 horses in eventing. He loves to gallop at Intermediate speed just for funsies, and he is more than capable of becoming a 2 Star horse some day. He is best suited for a gutsy 18-25 y/o kid on a lower b u d g e t looking to go up the levels quickly, but he would also be happy to pop around novice and below at a slower pace. He does require a knowledgeable rider and regular maintenance of osphos and adequan as well as robaxin infrequently.

Ozzy is a super personable, sweet, and outgoing horse who loves his people. He will entertain the masses with his tongue tricks. He loves to snuggle and wants to be a lap dog. He is great for the farrier, vet, bathing, clipping, trailering, etc. A super bonus is that he is a very easy keeper. He even needs to wear a muzzle during night turn out in the spring and fall to limit grass intake because he gets fat on air. He recently took my working student over several courses of cross rails safely, and gave another student a lesson over a course of 2'3" - 2'6" jumps. She will show him in the derbies at Loch Moy over the winter if he has not sold before then.

Ozzy is located in Bluemont, VA. Please PM me or call/text 703-283-4887 or check him out at https://optimusfarm.com . And before you ask, the RF on his record had nothing to do with a jump, and is because a ~3 foot long snake shot out of the tall grass right into the path we were on going into the woods and got tangled up in his legs. Couldn't make this up if I tried!
