Woodside Equine Clinic is seeking a reliable and motivated Ambulatory Assistant to support our equine veterinarian in the Fredericksburg area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working hands-on with horses and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Position Summary:
The Ambulatory Assistant plays a key role in supporting our field service veterinarian with patient care, client communication, and equipment handling. You'll travel to farms in the greater Fredericksburg area, helping ensure the highest quality veterinary care is delivered safely, efficiently, and with compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely handle and restrain horses for exams and treatments
  • Prepare and maintain veterinary equipment and supplies
  • Assist with procedures such as radiography, lameness exams, and field surgeries
  • Communicate professionally with clients and farm staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary vehicle and equipment
  • Drive the veterinary vehicle to and from appointments as needed
    Qualifications:
  • Experience working with horses is required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment
  • A positive attitude, dependability, and a willingness to learn

    Preferred But Not Required:
  • Prior experience in a veterinary setting
