ISO: Apartment/Cottage Rental with Possible Work-Trade (Early 2026)

Hello! My husband and I are beginning the search for a rental starting early 2026 (January–February). We're hoping to find a place to call home on an equestrian or farm property— a setting where we can enjoy nature and ideally be around horses. We'll also accompanied by our two friendly cats, who are excellent mousers and would adapt very well to a farm environment.
I'm especially interested in exploring a work-for-reduced-rent arrangement. With several years of horse experience—both as a stable hand and a dedicated leaser—I'm confident in handling barn chores, horse care, and day-to-day upkeep. While I work an in-person weekday job(as does my husband), I'm available in the mornings and on weekends. My husband and I are down-to-earth, dependable tenants who care about maintaining a clean and peaceful living environment.
Our Ideal Fit:
- Rental on an equestrian property (house, cottage, or apartment, etc—preferably not a basement)
- Within ~30 minutes of McLean, VA (Great Falls is ideal!)
- Standard rental or a work-trade setup (where I contribute barn help in exchange for reduced rent)
- Available ~January–February 2026
